Mestarietsivä Kalle Blomkvist

Last time I did theatre for kids was seven years ago (also with Teatteri Siperia). This time I was also set designer (and painted most of it also with few helpers). Kalle Blomkvist is young boy whose dream is to be detective and solve horrible crimes like murders... but he lives in a quiet small town where anything never happens. Until one day someone suspicious arrives and finally something starts to happen. I tried my best to avoid some of the clichés related to shows done for kids but well you can't go too abstract (and dark) when doing show like this. My idea behind the set wasn't to depict that little town Kalle lives in but instead "what Kalle would paint if he is asked to paint city of his dreams e.g mysterious big city with alleys and skyscrapers".
